Triumph of Puck

This work was also done in Japan’s Huis Ten Bosch, (as the title so clearly shows). This time I was working in a large covered gallery with very high end shops as well as a grand staircase used for weddings.

Triumph of Puck

The theme park specialized in weddings and on the weekends my own music track was interrupted every 45 minutes with “here comes the bride.” Ironically, the famous tune comes from Mendelsohn’s incidental music to Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream”, and my painting featured characters from the same Shakespeare play. Appropriate or not, it isn’t a tune that one needs to hear every 45 minutes.

I was assisted in both pieces by Bernard von Hessberg, a long-time pavement artist.
